Biology chronic fatigue fibro syndrome - the biology behind chronic fatigue syndromeChronic fatigue syndrome is a term given to excessive fatigue and tiredness. Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are two sides of the same coin. Scientists have conducted several teats and study in order to understand the biology of chronic fatigue syndrome. They have stated that this syndrome cannot be permanently cured. Since there are no diagnostic tests for this syndrome, treating this syndrome has become all the more difficult. Hence in this
case prevention is better than cure.
Likely causes of CFS
It has been scientifically identified that abnormalities caused in the brain or the immune system of an individual may lead to this syndrome. This abnormality is usually due to CFS pathogens. Due to immune system activation brain dysfunction is caused. As a result of this, other immune system cells receive the chemical messages sent to brain cells. This inturn leads to fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and enhanced sense of pain, hormonal dyregulation and other symptoms of CFS.
Symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome
Due to improper immune system, the body is easily prone to viral fever and other diseases. Hence the symptoms shown by a patient suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome are flu-like. This includes mild fever, recurrent soar throat and headache. This may be accompanied with severe body pain. This syndrome may also lead to muscle and joint pain. CFS also results in psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety and confusion. It may also lead to poor concentration and lack of interest and loss of memory. If not treated in the initial level this syndrome could prove to be injurious to the patients health.
Treatment for CFS
Researchers have suggested certain treatments for chronic fatigue syndrome. These treatments do not promise total eradication of chronic fatigue syndrome, but they promise to deal with the symptoms faced by CFS patients. Researchers and specialists say that in order to cope up with stress and fatigue, hypnosis, massage, aqua therapy, acupuncture, yoga and aromatherapy may help. For unbearable pain doctors suggest painkillers. In some cases antidepressants, anti-inflammatories, cardiac medications, immunoglobulins and other drugs can prove to very helpful.
