Voice over Internet Protocol converts the voice into digital packets and sends it over the Internet and these are converted back into analog signals before reaching the receiver at the other end. The interesting part about the broadband phone service is that it functions the same as phone systems, once they have been set up. Because the costs of using broadband phone services are essentially low, the subscriber is more attracted to it as it enables them to save considerable sums of money through this means of telecommunication. However, the subscriber needs to have a high-speed internet connection, and broadband phone services may be subject to power outages as well as virus attacks. The sound may not always be up to par, 911 calls may not always be available and finally, contrary to popular belief, international calls may not come free of cost.
