This tiredness can decrease a person's activity level at home, work or school by 50% or more. The affected person can feel difficulty in doing the normal daily tasks such as bathing and dressing. Affected person may have the problem of muscle pain and joint pain. Headaches, sore throats and lymph node pain are also very common in this syndrome. The persons suffering from this disorder also experience cognitive problems such as forgetfulness, confusion and difficulty in thinking. Affected people are also sometimes become sensitive to light, sound, and some chemicals and foods. The problem of insomnia is also very common in this syndrome. It is also very difficult to maintain a sleep schedule for the people affected with this syndrome. Some psychological and psychiatric problems such as depression and anxiety are often reported. There are also some other symptoms such as hormonal abnormalities and poor temperature control seen in this disorder. Conclusion There is no treatment available for this syndrome. Symptoms of this syndrome last for many months or years, and only a small percentage of the affected people recover full health. The exact cause of this disease is also not known. Although this disorder many a times occurs after infections or flu but there is no proof that these infections can cause the illness. It is believed that the most common cause of the chronic fatigue syndrome is depression and overwork.
