Hollywood Film FestivalIf you are talking about velvet ropes, red carpets, designer gowns, VIP tickets, A- list celebrities, cocktail parties with all the glitz and glamour, then this is one of its kinds. Created with the purpose to bridge the gap between the "historical center for movies" and the global creative community, the Hollywood Film Festival is at the same time giving tribute to the town's most established professionals.
Los Angeles Times once said that the Hollywood Film Festival has transformed into a pre- Academy Award showcase as it is well- attended by a lot of popular celebrities that
have hit big- time in the silver screens. As for Variety Magazine, they described it as the "ultimate networking opportunity for talented motion picture enthusiasts that are seeking for a break." Associated Press commented believed that the "awards launch pushes toward the Oscar."
In the last three years of the Hollywood Film Festival, the entries that were initially sent to them were eventually forwarded to the Academy Awards, it totaled to about 44 nominations in the Oscars. Nine of those even bagged the most coveted trophies. Overtly, it is an indicator that those who have been continually joining the competition, deemed the credibility of the event. As time have been passing by, their standards are also getting more tougher where it has been challenging directors, producers and writers alike to come up with real quality for world- class viewing.
At the 2005 Hollywood Film Festival, they gained a publicity of over 500, 000, 000 media in a mixture of broadcast, internet and print where it amounted to approximately $25, 000, 000. Aside from the monetary funds that were added last year, Craig Brewer was recognized for his successful work on "Hustle and Bustle." In retrospect, he was first discovered at the said cinematic carnival about five years ago.
One of their highlights is the Hollywood Award where it was made to give tribute in the excellence of the art of motion picture creation in whatever medium is utilized. Honors such as "World", "Film", "Breakthrough" and "Movie of the Year" are rendered in the Gala Ceremony that takes place in the posh Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. There is also "Discovery" which is conferred at a stand- alone affair. It is imparted to the selected finalists in the categories of short flicks, features, documentaries and music videos that originate from Asia, Europe, America and Latin.
Since this is also a time for hot clothing flaunted by different actors and actresses, the organizers have come up with the Hollywood Fashion Awards where it acknowledges the style that defines their personality for a fantastic evening. It is comprised of eight such as the Star of the Year Award, Entertainer of the Year Award, Celebrity of the Year Award, Designer of the Year Award, Model of the Year Award, Stylist of the Year Award, Make- up Artist of the Year Award and Hairdresser of the Year Award.
