Liberty Film Festival

The Liberty Film Festival is the only conservative film festival in Hollywood. The Liberty Film Festival was created on July of the year 2004 by Govindini Murty and Jason Apuzzo. The aim of the Liberty Film Festival is to uphold free speech, patriotism, religious freedom and democracy by staging a forum in the center of Hollywood for conservative and broadminded independent film makers. The Liberty Film Festival has merged with the Center for the Study of Popular Culture last June of 2006. The Center for the Study of Popular Culture is an organization that aims to uphold the intellectual freedom not just in the
United States also the whole world. The Center for the Study of Popular Culture was founded by an author named David Horowitz.
The Liberty Film Festival was co-founded by Govindini Murty. Govindini Murty is a guest film critic for "The Movie Club" (AMC TV). This Liberty Film Festival's co-founder also writes columns for The LA Times and has made various television talk show and news programs appearances. Govindini Murty has a BA in East Asian Studies in Yale University.
The other founder of the Liberty Film Festival is a writer/director named Jason Apuzzo. Along with Govindini Murty, Jason Apuzzo also writes and edits "Libertas" (the premiere web blog for conservative thought on film). Jason Apuzzo writes a weekly column for "Newsmax" called "Hollywood Confidential". He also has a biweekly column on Townhall.com and, like Govindini Murty, has also made appearances on various television programs and has made numerous appearances on radio talk shows. Jason Apuzzo has a Ph.D. in Germanic Literature in Stanford University and BA in Philosophy in Yale University.
The Liberty Film Festival is celebrated yearly and was held in West Hollywood, California. The said conservative film festival has attracted a lot of attention and has a total of almost seven thousand attendees. The conservative film festival has premiered over thirty intellectual films. The Liberty Film Festival maintains a highly successful blog on the internet called the "Libertas" (www.libertyfilmfestival.com/libertas) that is a forum for conservative discussions on film. The said web blog has received almost over two million hits a month.
The Liberty Film Festival showcases films that feature freedom over tyranny. The said conservative film festival features documentaries and narrative films whose themes are about terrorism, wars, conflicts, illegal immigration, free markets and democracy in the developing countries, traditional culture preservations, religious freedom and wars. The Liberty Film Festival aims to motivate a lively and distinct debate. The Liberty Film Festival invites film makers, whose films commemorate America, democracy, liberty, free enterprise, faith and family. The Liberty Film Festival holds a competition for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film. The films will be judged according to its overall cinematic quality, thematic relevance to the Liberty Film Festival and the originality of the film.
