Like the Cinema Ontario which started in 1990 by presenting critically acclaimed motion picture presentations together with the directors' spotlights and exclusive limited runs. The selection is chosen on yearly screening programs of olden classics and favorites as well as old underdog films that failed the spotlight but yet deserved praises.
Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children is also one of those directives that are directly geared towards younger participants. Workshops and learning centers are organized for children, raising funds for those who lack educational and cultural access. And since its inauguration in 1998, its participants have risen from 2,000 to 16,000.
And maybe the best initiative of the Toronto International Film Festival Group is the public access of The Film Reference Library Archives. With more than 16,000 book titles and 60,000 film related files, Toronto International Film Festival Group's Film Reference Library is the world's largest film related material. Also the library holds a number of resources from the well-regarded filmmakers of Canada, such as David Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan, Bruce McDonald, Don McKellar and Patricia Rozema.
Toronto International Film Festival Group is also responsible for the monthly Reel Talk Subscription Service which features the latest news and sneak previews of upcoming paramount films. This subscription also features reviews and discussions of films.
